"A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013." |
Lucy: you are 4 weeks old this week. And growing so fast! You weighed in at 8Ilbs, 14oz and are 21.5 inches long at your 1 month doctor visit. This puts you at 50% weight and 75% height. (Fun fact, your head is 25% but we promise it looks just the right size!) You look so much like mama, but we're starting to see more and more of dad in you everyday, especially in your blue eyes and expressions. And your long legs, arms and toes!
At 4 weeks, you have 4 basic requirements. Bounce, Boob, Burp and Bed. If you're doing 1 of these 4 things, you are a very happy baby! You love to nap on the move which is great for your active parents! We take you daily on long walks down the beach boardwalk. It gives us a chance to exercise and eat out at favorite cafes. The car also provides just the right motion for your nap time, we easily made the 2-hour drive back and forth to Grandma and Grandpa's without stopping.
Some things you love... the sound of rain. Our bedroom has become a rain forest at night. Your sleep sheep and an iphone app are serious magic to calm you. It's comical how quickly a serene look comes across your face (and equally how quickly a not so serene look comes across your face when it shuts off!) We're perfectly happy to keep the rain going as you're starting to sleep 6 hours pretty consistently at night. You also love starring at pictures on our walls - especially our Friends with You prints. You're pretty good at Tummy time and you love rockin' with Dad in the Eames chair.
This first month with you really has been magical. We feel like the luckiest parents in the world. Our biggest blessing yet.
This past week my favorite portrait was precious moment between Father and Son over at The Stork and the Beanstalk. I'm completely smitten with Ashley's amazing photographic style and want to be just like her :)
